Large Floral Trend: this spring is all about large floral statements! We’ve rolled it out slowly with some subtle selections that speak to the trend without shouting. Manderley is a two-tone printed cotton twill. Deep mint green and ivory partner to make a spring fresh statement.
How to wear it? This sturdy cotton twill will make up well in jackets, capri pants or skirts. Use the floral in its fullest display or break it up with seams to make it less conspicuous.
If you are timid about wearing the flowers so prominently, then we suggest one of our newest rayon prints that offer large motifs in tone on tone shades for a muted presentation.
How to wear it? Let these prints do all the talking in a drapey dress, skirt or flowing separates! Very tropical!
So you’ll be seeing a lot more from us on this trend as we continue to roll out our spring offerings. Stay tuned!

The market can’t get enough of large scale printed knits coming out of Europe. Check out these two from Norma Kamali.
Whether you’re trekking the wilds of Africa, or big game viewing on ESPN, the relaxed look and feel of natural fibers in soft earthy tones beckons. Like the tides, the look waxes and wanes from one fashion season to another, but its presence is a comforting constant. In recent years the look has morphed from animal prints to large scale botanicals with soft neutrals all the while following the pack. This season, the “Out of Africa” solids of soft off-whites and natural khakis rule the savannah and hold court over beasty and botany.
Leopardess (shown) – Join the fun with these delectable silk jersey knits in blue and plum. The pattern from nature is there, but the colors are pure fashion!
Black and White never gets old, and it’s fresh as can be this summer!! The high contrast can be interpreted in a number of different ways depending on how you wear black and white best. All black with a band of white or the opposite, prints with black/white designs, white dots on black or black dots on white, opposing tops and bottoms, all white suit with black top and shoes, or try this embroidered duo for some fun mix and match.
Paisleys never quite go away but some years they emerge as THE motif of the season. This is one of those years! Use the paisley print reservedly for the best fashion impact.
Soft and flowing, georgette is a semi-sheer fabric that is reigning supreme in the marketplace right now. Since ruffles are here to stay this spring, you’ll see lots of soft, drapeable prints that fall gently into ribbons (flounces) down the front of dresses and blouses or peak out from beneath straight or a-line skirt to make a subtle but flirtatious statement. For semi-sheer prints, see Effervescence, and look for Spright next week.
